Hotel history ...

The 1960s and early 1970s were real boom times for Abersoch and Porth Tocyn. It attracted not just the wealthy but the famous too. However all good things come to an end and in 1975 my father dropped out of the business "for personal reasons" and I found myself being quickly sucked into the game fresh from university.
The late 70´s and early 80´s were a tricky period re-adjusting to the changing hotel market. For a while we were nearly dropped from the Good Food Guide. However by 1984 we had won one of the first Cesar Awards from the Good Hotel Guide and were off !
